Recommended / modern DJI Fly waypoint drones
These are the main DroneGo.io target models. DJI Fly waypoint routes commonly use speed from 0.1 m/s to 15.0 m/s. DroneGo.io uses 180 waypoints as a conservative default and keeps support language tied to the configured profiles rather than claiming universal DJI support.
| Drone | Workflow | Status | Max flight speed | Waypoint cap | Gimbal pitch | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DJI Mini 4 Pro | DJI Fly | Supported target | 16 m/s | 15 m/s, 180 default | -90 to +60 deg | DJI specs |
| DJI Mini 5 Pro | DJI Fly | Likely supported, needs device test | About 19 m/s | 15 m/s, 180 default | Exact range needs confirmation | DJI Fly waypoint article |
| DJI Air 3 | DJI Fly | Supported target | 21 m/s | 15 m/s, 180 default | -90 to +60 deg | DJI specs |
| DJI Air 3S | DJI Fly | Supported target | 21 m/s | 15 m/s, 180 default | -90 to +60 deg | DJI specs |
| DJI Mavic 3 / Classic / Pro | DJI Fly | Supported target | 21 m/s | 15 m/s, 180 default | -90 to +35 deg | DJI specs |
| DJI Mavic 4 Pro | DJI Fly | Likely supported, needs device test | 25 m/s | 15 m/s, 180 default | -90 to +70 deg | DJI gimbal note |
Enterprise / DJI Pilot / non-DJI Fly waypoint drones
These aircraft may use DJI Pilot 2, GS Pro, SDK, enterprise waylines or different route-file behaviour. DroneGo.io can record their limits for validation, but the workflow must be tested on the actual aircraft and controller.
Examples: DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise / Mavic 3E, DJI Mavic 3 Thermal / Mavic 3T, DJI Matrice 30 / 30T, DJI Matrice 350 RTK, DJI Phantom 4 RTK and DJI Inspire 3.
Legacy waypoint drones
DJI Mavic Pro, Mavic 2 Pro, Mavic 2 Zoom, Phantom 4 Pro, Phantom 4 Advanced and Inspire 2 sit in the legacy / DJI GO 4 / GS Pro / Litchi-era category. Do not assume DroneGo.io KMZ compatibility without separate testing.
DJI GS Pro documentation describes 99-waypoint grouping for older GS Pro missions. That is separate from the current DJI Fly article, so DroneGo.io labels these as legacy rather than current DJI Fly KMZ targets.
Waypoint limitations
DJI Fly waypoint settings can include altitude, speed, aircraft heading, gimbal pitch, zoom mode, hover time and camera actions. DJI Mobile SDK legacy waypoint speed documentation uses 15 m/s as the relevant waypoint speed ceiling, and DJI WPML documentation notes that different aircraft can have different maximum speeds.
DroneGo.io labels limits as official DJI spec, conservative default, or needs real-device testing. It warns for speed above 15 m/s, gimbal pitch outside the selected drone range, legal altitude above 120 m by default, very close waypoint spacing and aggressive height changes.
